I just love getting credit card applications and other junk mail. My wife actually sets it aside for me so I can tear it open when I get home. Do I have a debt problem? No!
Companies have whole departments set aside just to hunt down your name and address so they can send you applications, notices, and other "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunities. They send these out in stacks, often clogging unsuspecting mailboxes each day. Most simply toss them aside without a second thought. But me, I rip them open and pull out that wonderful prepaid envelope. There it is, a postage free envelope they stuffed in their in the hopes that you would fill out the application or send in your information. But I found another purpose for these handy little nuisances.
I send them back, but not with my information. I send them back with the most important information anyone could ever read: the Law and the Gospel. I reach into my handy, dandy box o' tracts and pull out up to three to send away. Someone on the receiving end will open the envelope and I pray will be curious enough to read one. The money tracts, especially the Living Waters' "Giant Money" tracts, are probably the most eye catching. I can only wonder what my mailman thinks as he pulls a new envelope from my box almost every day.
I pray this might give you another idea as to how to get the Gospel out into the world. May God be glorified as we seek to reach the lost in His name...no matter where they are.
